bio
Matt Levy is a 1988-born stand up & sketch comedian, cancer survivor and lifelong Night at the Roxbury fan. Hailing from Arizona, Matt moved to New York in 2013 to pursue comedy full-time. We know. Very brave!
Levy has performed at festivals like The Beast Village Comedy Festival (Des Moines), The Bird City Comedy Festival (Phoenix) and Motor City Comedy Festival (Detroit) to name a few, produces sketches (check out his directing and editing reel here) and writes a weekly blog called “Comedy Stray Notes.”
Most importantly, this background is a picture of Matt at 8-years-old. Family trip to Hawaii. Nice.
SKETCHES
In 2007, Matt created his own sketch show at Arizona State called Shark Jumpers and has been producing funny videos ever since. Here’s his YouTube channel and a playlist of sketches.
Check out a sample of his two favorites here:
Short films
Matt attended film school from 2009-11 at ASU where he wrote, directed, produced and edited numerous short films. Most notable is his thesis project, A Portrait of the Sandwich Artist as a Young Man. The film was selected for the LA Comedy Fest and Lighthouse International Film Festival.
Matt’s films have also played The Phoenix Comicon, Toronto SketchFest, All The Laughs Festival, Comedy Bop! and film society screenings. His most recent project We Regret To Inform You has been selected for three festivals.
Mashups and profiles
Mashups
In quarantine, Matt was inspired to make a few mashups under the moniker Fleetwood Mash.
Here’s the best one:
A profile about you
Matt runs a site where he writes profiles about comics, actors, internet personalities, authors, web series and anyone else that would have him. Check it out here.

Matt levy stand up
Matt has a fun and interactive comedy style that HAS to be seen in person. He is known in the City for hosting, roasting, and cancer-themed podcast "We Didn't Die."
See his festival submission tape and 30-minute special below.
It's Everybody's Birthday:
A Monthly Birthday Party-Themed Comedy Show
It's Everybody's Birthday is a “currently on hiatus” comedy show hosted by Matt Levy and Jesse Swatling-Holcomb that took place monthly at the Standing Room in Long Island City.
“IEB” played the Bird City Comedy Festival and The Stand featuring celebrated comics celebrating their birthdays like Roy Wood Jr. Yamaneika Saunders and Casey James Salengo.
Every show, there were presents, donuts and numerous birthday-themed gags.
As we say, there won't be a show where you'll sing "Happy Birthday" at more times than ours. We promise.
Matt Levy podcasts
Like most Millennials, I have hosted a podcast or two.
If you’ve made it this far, I recommend you check out “Unmade Dream Projects,” a show where I hold readings of movies, plays and pilots I never actually produced. It’s a good time!
The other pod I hosted a few years back was called "We Didn't Die." All of the guests are fellow cancer survivors. I gave up after 5 episodes. One could say this podcast did…you figure out the rest.
